In the Middle of Covid-19 Pandemic, Hundreds of KBB Residents contracted DHF

TRIBUNJABAR.ID, NGAMPRAH – Amid the Corona virus pandemic (Covid-19), hundreds of residents of West Bandung Regency (KBB) have contracted Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) up to a portion of they must get treatment at the hospital.

Based on data from the KBB Health Office, from January to April 2020 there were 486 people infected with DHF, with details of 247 men and 239 women infected with DHF.

Head of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) KBB Health Office, Dewi Murniati said, hundreds of residents infected with DHF were on average aged 15 to 44 years.

“Some DHF sufferers were treated in hospitals and some are treated at Puskesmas. Depending on the conditions, “Dewi said when contacted via telephone on Friday (4/17/2020).

Dewi said, as many as 486 people infected with DHF were data from every hospital and puskesmas in KBB. Of the hundreds of people certainly no one to death.

The existence of this DHF case is because since January until now it is still in the rainy season, so often puddles occur in their home environment to cause the Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes to breed.

“Even though we are now handling Covid-19, efforts to prevent and handle DHF continue to be carried out, especially prevention by the puskesmas,” he said.

Related to this, the institute has carried out Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN) activities carried out by cadres of larvae monitoring (Jumantik), including holding a DBD prevention training for the cadres.

In order that the DHF does not take its side, it urges the KBB community to keep paying attention to the conditions around the house and not allow standing water, especially inside the house.
